A Notable Day: 10 Million For MarketsWiki

This item was posted in the John Lothian Newsletter Apr. 6, 2011.

The counter rolled over on Tuesday: MarketsWiki received its 10-millionth page view!

In honor of the event, the MarketsWiki team created a page, The History of MarketsWiki, to provide an overview of the project's creation, personnel and future.

When it opened to the public in early 2008, some months after the project's launch, the milestones were smaller but still exciting: 200 visitors in one day; visitors from 100 countries; our first user account request from outside the team; seeing MarketsWiki articles begin to appear in Google search results; seeing MarketsWiki actually BEAT Wikipedia in a search result.

Now, 10 million views have come and gone; it's already 10 million 6 thousand in the rear-view mirror as Europe begins its day and the USA moves through night. We look forward to the 20-million mark; our first million views at MarketsReformWiki; and new projects to help find common ground and understanding for the global financial industry. On behalf of John Lothian and all the MarketsWiki team members, thank you to all sponsors and users for supporting this project.

- Jon Matte, chief operating officer of John J. Lothian & Company, Inc., publisher of MarketsWiki.
